About 7 weeks ago I hit the point where I’d completely had enough of myself!!… and thought it’s time to ramp up my training and get my fitness back!
I’ve trained at a gym, doing cardio, weights and classes for years. I’ve trained with some great trainers as well as been involved with team sports so being active was never the issue, it was more the quality of my workouts. So I started looking for something different to the standard gym, and one day whilst searching online, came across the Bulldog Gym in Leichhardt. I travel to Ashfield everyday for work and the Bulldog Gym is only another 10 minutes away so I figured, why not give it a try?
So…for the past 7 weeks I have been training with Astro 3 days a week, doing a variety of things such as weights training, kick boxing, circuit training as well as venturing outside to do some activities in the park. It’s a love/hate relationship. Love…because in this short time frame, I am fitter & stronger than I have been in years, I feel the changes in my body, I feel my clothes getting looser, and every day I am receiving more & more positive comments from the people around me. Hate…because he makes me face my demons, all the exercises that I dislike, all the things that I think I can’t do. Astro challenges me, and he challenges those barriers that I have built in my head which have held me back from achieving my goals. After each session I am drenched in sweat and trying to catch my breath, and that there is the reason why I do it. Astro pushes me and makes me give my best plus more each and every session. With my training, what motivates me is results. The more results I see, the more determined I become. Astro helped me get out of the ditch that I had fallen into. I’m loving the path that I am currently on & am looking forward to having his continued support as I continue on the road to achieving my goals!

I have trained in a well known Brisbane gym, spent a few months in a Thai Camp and trained in a professional gym in North London over a period of 8 years. Steve has been my personal trainer for 4 months now and I couldn’t be happier with the results! He is truly a unique personal trainer; he takes no excuses so I achieve maximum results and makes me accountable, letting me know when I have worked hard. I have been training at Bulldogs Gym Balmain for about 3 years now, and have loved every second of it! In February of this year I returned to Bulldogs after having 6 months off with an injury- I broke my tibia, dislocated my knee, tore my MCL and tore 75% of the soft tissue around my knee! Steve tailored my personal training sessions to accommodate my injury and incorporated lots of rehab and strength exercises which sped up my recovery. For 3 months now I have been doing 2 PT sessions a week with Steve, plus 2 cardio-boxing classes, and the weight that I put on as a result of my injury quickly fell off. Steve has not only helped me to reach my physical peak, but he has coached me through mental barriers after my injury. Thanks for everything Steve you rock!








Steve Guinane teaches all fight classes and some Thai and cardio boxing classes. He has been training in Muay Thai for eleven years. He has had ten fights with eight wins. During his time as a fighter he obtained the NSW Title in the super welter weight category.
